back at my local retail store
the employees were taking stock
I bought the last carrots of course
to simplify their work a lot

not to the pleasure of two girls
who finally had to do without
carrots in their soup or where-
ever they were thought to land

but does it matter?
do things get better?
if one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, pleasure

i thought about our last two days
when paris felt like hollywood
cotton candy, white snow flakes
dipped into cerulean milk

beggars wrapped into reels of paper
with news that probably referred to
why they had to face their fate
in such a frosty, deadly way

but does it matter?
do things get better?
if one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, pleasure

I managed to get high combatin’
my fear of heights disease
from 50 meters way up high
Paris just looked sweet

not sweet at all the taste of sour
cream from a plastic cup
to see the world from upside down
means not to be on top
